A book can be something you read, something you listen to, or something you look at. Indiewright lets a creator publish all three from one place, price each one separately, and keep 90% of every sale.
For readers and listeners
Most work here is sold as separate editions rather than one bundled product, so you buy the version you actually want — and only that one.
The narrated edition, in episodes or as a whole work.
The manuscript itself, readable in the app and downloadable.
Page art and comics, read as the creator laid them out.
Creators can offer any two or more together as a bundle at a lower price. If you already own one edition, its price comes off the bundle — nobody pays twice for the same thing.
You can refund a purchase within 24 hours. Beyond that we still refund if a work is removed for a rights problem, if an edition does not open or play, if you were charged twice, or if the purchase was not made by you. For creators
One: publishing a work. A one-off fee charged to your card at the moment you publish, which rises with how much you have published and then stops:

Nothing is charged while you are making a work. Upload everything, set your prices, change your mind, delete it — you only pay if you publish. It is not a subscription, nothing recurs, and it is never taken out of your sales.
Two: 10% of each sale. That is the whole commission. Card processing, payouts, storage, bandwidth, tax filing and chargeback fees all come out of our 10%, not out of your 90%. On a $14.99 audiobook you receive $13.49, every copy.
Earnings clear seven days after a sale and go to your bank once you reach $50. You can withdraw earlier for what the transfer actually costs.
You grant a non-exclusive licence to host and deliver your work. You can leave whenever you like and be paid in full.
Analytics, your creator page, community tools and unlimited uploads are not behind a tier, and will not be.
Video is the one metered thing, because delivering it costs per minute watched — 10 minutes per file, with a monthly allowance that grows as you earn. If it runs out the episode keeps playing as audio. We do not take anyone's work offline over a bandwidth bill.
Indiewright is a platform, not a publisher. Creators own what they upload and are responsible for holding the rights to it. We do not vet works before they go live; we act on reports, and anyone can report a published work from inside the app. Work removed for a copyright problem is refunded to its buyers automatically.
A real person reads every message, and we aim to reply within one business day.
